Romance

Lovelorn folks,
wanting
a relationship,
wasting
time
on the
emotionally
unavailable.

A simple statement. A simple poem. A complex issue.

Love

Tend to your garden,
    your garden of love.

Love is like a plant;
    love takes time to grow.

If you stop
     caring for it,
         it slowly dies.

You need
     to give fully
         to live with love.

A lovely little poem about love.

I Want to Know

I found this picture at http://netanimation.net

"We need to talk."

"About what?
Good news?
Bad news?
Something wonderful?
Something awful?
Why do you say that?"

“We need to talk.”  Whenever you hear those words, are you filled with anxiety?

Blah Blah Blah

to learn about the art of conversation
Cornered
at a party
at the office
on a stroll
ensnared
in an interminable talker.
Buttonholed
by a boor
or a boor;
by an egotist,
or a polemicist,
by a labbermouth,
or ababbling barfly.
Often
there is nothing
short of rudeness
that can end it.
So,
hang in there?

Sometimes I’m trapped by the excessive talker, and sometimes I’m guilty of being the excessive talker.

Sometimes I’d be working late at my office, trying to finish my work and go home, when a co-worker would come into my office, plop herself down in a chair, and refuse to take a hint.  One day I had an idea of how to put an end to this.  I stacked a bunch of reports and papers on my chair.  She came into my office, took the reports and papers from the chair, put them on the floor, and plopped herself into the chair.

Ask Amy

Dear Amy,

My husband—
unfaithful.
Many times.

Exhausted! Depleted!
How do I
let go of this grief?

I decided to separate.
I am struggling
to find some peace.

Dear Exhausted,

The chaos of your
marriage has exhausted
you to your core.

Stop! Breathe!
The peace you crave
comes from within.

One day at a time;
make those days
a little bit better.

Even the advice column can yield a poem.

Cheers and Tears

City Hall--filled with joyous tears,
applause, and even a harpist.
A domestic-partner registry,
an option for same sex couples

The book is coming out the end of April with a collection of 101 of the 2012 first quarter poems. I'm taking down the posts, but I'll leave the first stanza of each poem.
