Americana Visionary

Doc Watson.
A blind musician.
Internationally celebrated.

His natural ease as a storyteller.
His heartfelt baritone singing.
His vast repository of material.
His facility on guitar.
A rare combination
of authenticity and artistry.

He played country.
He played folk.
He played bluegrass.
He played gospel.

All those elements interwoven.
Doc Watson’s appreciation
for a broad spectrum of music
in the Americana world.

Doc Watson died on may 29th.  He was 89 years old.  He was blinded by an eye infection before the age of two.
