Swimming

Swimming.

In the water.

Gliding weightless

Slicing a silent trail through a patch of blue.

Carving long languorous laps.

It’s sensual.

The silky feel of liquid on the skin.

It’s an inward journey.

A time of quiet contemplation.

The silence is stunning.

It’s healing.

Water soothes every muscle.

Swimming restores sanity.

Swimming provides an escape.

Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.

Today’s poem comes from Parade magazine which is included in the Sunday Orlando Sentinel.  I love swimming.  The sentiments expressed in this poem match mine entirely.
