Isaac

This picture is from nasa.gov
Isaac
continues its slow march

across Louisiana.

Rising flood waters

forcing evacuations;

houses underwater,

residents in shelters.

Officials warn

that the danger

has not passed.

This storm

is still dangerous.

Isaac delivered no more than heavy rains to Orlando.  It saved its wrath for the Gulf coast areas. The levees held, thank goodness, and there was only one death attributed to the storm.

Isaac did one good thing.  It shortened the Republican Convention in Tampa by a day.  I tried to watch the speeches.  I had to quit because the viciousness and the craziness were scaring me.

  1. Hurricane Isaac dumped 15 inches of rain on Wellington, FL while we were on vacation. The flooding was so bad we couldn't leave the house for two days. Great poem.

    1. It's all a matter of luck when it comes to hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, etc. I hope it didn't ruin your vacation too much. You got to have a staycation,except technically you weren't at home.
