Chemo Brain

Chemo brain; foggy thinking--
cancer patients complain about it;
doctors dismiss it.
Cognitive functioning—
verbal ability, particularly
the ability to find words;
getting lost more easily;
memory problems.

Chemo brain is real!

The brain takes a hit after chemo—
decreasing the number of nerve cells
in the memory center of the brain;
making white and gray matter smaller.

Mental function lost.
Cognitive difficulties.
Chemo brain is real.

Chemo brain has been validated by a large new study from the Moffit Cancer Center.
The newspaper report says mental exercise can help.  Writing poetry perhaps?
