"News print poetry", a form of "found poetry" or "blackout poetry." I took one story from the Orlando Sentinel newspaper each day and transformed it into a poem by creatively selecting words from the story. The words are kept in their original order and no words were added. The 2012 project is completed, but I add new poems from time to time.
I commented on my progress, and about writing in general, on a companion blog: http://newsprintpoetry.blogspot.com.
Farmers markets— a place to make connections with the people who grow our food.
Florida has so many farmers,
passionate about what they do, growing on small boutique farms,
Winter Park Farmers Market,
Saturday morning, at the city’s old train depot.
Markets are a place to connect not only with farmers and purveyors of artisan
food (jams, relishes, etc.), but also a place to connect with friends and
neighbors.Support local farmers and
support your community.
