Dueling Conventions

Tampa:
Amateurish stagecraft.
Emphasis on “defeat Barack Obama”
rather than “elect Mitt Romney.”
The party seemed to believe
Romney will lose.

Charlotte:

Focused and spirited
Emphasis on “reelect Barack Obama.”
The oratory, superior.
The visuals, more telegenic.
No Clint Eastwood moments.

The Republicans—

Meandering.
The Democrats—
Relentlessly on message.
The Democrats—
Absolutely on fire. 

The Democrats’ philosophy of “We’re all in this together” is better than the Republicans’ philosophy of “You’re on your own.” 

 Another difference between the two conventions:  the Republicans lied, the Democrats told the truth. (The independent fact-checkers confirmed this.)
